The illustration focused on capturing Kalachakra's detailed features, including 24 arms and two legs, holding various emblems and fierce facial expressions, all adorned with elegant ornaments.
This Thangka depicts Kalachakra in a deep blue colour with three necks, four faces, and three eyes. The main face is dark blue, and the others in red, white, and yellow express different emotions, primarily peaceful and angry. The hands are colour-coded: dark blue for air, red for fire, white for water, and yellow representing earth, collectively symbolizing the essence of nature.
The Thangka features a strong face, a half-moon topknot, and several objects in his hands, including a vajra, sword, trident, curved knife, triple arrow, vajra hook, drum, bell, shield, staff, a skull filled with blood, bow, noose, diamond, lotus, conch, mirror, and iron chain, and a Brahma head. His red right leg crushes Kamadeva, the god of desire, while his white left leg holds Rudra, the Forceful. Vishvamata, the Mother of Diversity, has four faces, each with three eyes. The embrace of Kalachakra and Vishvamata shows compassion and understanding, which leads to full enlightenment.
