This Wheel of Life Thanka is one of Buddhism's most well-known and intricate themes. In accordance with Buddhist philosophy, we painted this thanka with all the iconographic details correct to aid in your contemplation of this circle of Existence.

A never-ending human life cycle is thought to be represented by this wheel of life thanka. As seen in the image, a huge demon, often known as Yama, the god of death, is holding the entire wheel. It is thought that the Buddha himself drew it initially. A pig, a snake, and a cock are biting each other's tails to demonstrate the interconnectedness of the three cardinal sins of ignorance (the pig), anger (the snake), and desire (the cock) in the largest circle at the centre. The light portion of the small circle to the viewer's left depicts figures moving up to higher levels of existence, while the dark portion to the viewer's right depicts figures moving down to lower levels. The six main segments of the wheel depict the six world existence. In the upper half are the relatively happier realms of the gods, the asuras or demigods and human being. In the lower half are the more wretched realms of the animals, pretas or hungry ghosts, and those tortured in hell.
